College Visit

Holy mother of God, I can't believe I FINALLY got my college visit to UNL all worked out. I called the admissions office yesterday, cuz the internet sign up wasn't working, and set up my visit on Oct. 15, Saturday. My mom is coming with me, not by choice, and we leave at SIX AM in the morning on Friday and then come back Sunday morning. Our flights suck ass though cuz they're not direct and we have a ton of layovers, etc. Anyway, on Friday we should get to Nebraska by 12 pm, then to the hotel by 2 or 3 pm. Scott Winter, the unbelieveable journalism teacher that me and Fran have been obsessed with for the past 2 years, is going to show us around! On Friday, as soon as me and my mom get settled, he's gonna introduce me to some big shot professors (GULP!) and then he invited us "for sure" to have dinner with him and his wife!!! Ahhhh!! Sooo cool, but what the hell am I supposed to say? I seriously feel like a dweeb. I can't believe I just said dweeb, but it's too true to try and substitute it with some "up to date" word. Dweeb is what I said, dweeb is what I meant. Ahhhh!

Plus, what am I supposed to say to professors? "Uhhh, so yeah, I might be coming here next year. Nice to meet you." Smile, smile. WTF??? I don't know!!! Argh, oh well, I just hope it won't be so awkward that I'll blush my worst, which if you've never seen it, you can't possibly understand how red my face can actually get.

But of course, I'm SO EXCITED!!! I mean, what if I actually go there next year? I'm still looking at Northwestern, but it's about $30,000 more each year, and that's nothing to sneeze at. Plus, I would only be able to major in journalism, at the Medill College, so I wouldn't be able to double major like I wanted to. Plus, I think it would become reallllly stressful because it's seriously competitive. I am just not that ambitious, I just want to carve out a normal, satisfactory, fullfilling life for myself (wow, that sounds really cliched, but it's true). The only thing is that it kinda sucks that I've been working so hard in high school when I don't need such good grades to get into UNL because it's a state university and you don't even need to write an essay. Hmmm...

I don't know.

I never thought seniors really had it this bad, but baby was I wrong.

Another thing: SENIORITIS!!!! Oh my God, in every class that I have with seniors, when the teacher talks, we just laugh and don't do anything. Ahhh, I can't believe I didn't say this yet! Today in Creative Writing Mrs. Creighton taught us about RUN-ON SENTENCES. OMG! WTF??!! Chelsea, whose a senior and one of the smartest people ever (seriously, genious level), and me just looked at each other and laughed the whole time, sneaking M&Ms and trying not to laugh too loud (Fran -- it was like that time at the movies while we were watching The Notebook -- shaking shoulders and slapping knees, the whole bit). It was actually really fun. In my English class (all seniors), nobody does ANYTHING! No one gives a shit and Mr. Laferriere/The Jackass screams at us all the time. Kinda funny, so I always start laughing and have to hid behind the head of the girl who sits in front of me. :)

Today TOTALLY (like, for sure) felt like Friday. All day, I kept thinking that I could do all this buttload of homework this weekend, but noooo, I have to do it tonight. Arghhh!

Okay, I think this post is a bit too long (just a bit) so I should prob stop here. Oh well. Haha, for once I didn't even talk about newspaper? Who would've thunk?

Ohh, just saw another commercial for the movie Jarhead with Jake Gyllenhall, can't wait for it to come out!!! Plus, who can forget about Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire??? Fran -- midnight showing!!!

Okay, I'll stop now.

I promise.

Why do all the good movies always come out in winter? When I am actually really busy?

Something to chew on.

Okay.

I promise.

I'm stopping.

My fingers kinda hurt from typing so fast.

Buh-bye!!

Actually, WAIT!! They made the awesome book SPEAK into a movie!!! Check your local listings!! Wow, sound like a broadcaster much? But seriously, it's frickin awesome! Awesome movie, even awesomer book!

Okay, bye for real now.

Hehehehe :)
